Vanessa Arias Ruiz is a Venezuelan photographer and writer who is intrigued by people and the beauty of entering their world through art

“ The click of the shutter is not the first step in the process of building an image.  Nor is it the last.

My creative process is hardly ever linear, and sometimes begins while I listen to a song;  Sometimes it's a phrase from a book I read in the morning.  The story of a stranger in a bar.  The time I drove 35 minutes to sit alone on the sand to watch the surfers.  The insomnia that made me go for a walk at midnight.  A colour.  A movie.  The night I heard a loud noise and decided to turn off all the lights in the house.

Sometimes art is passion, sometimes fear.  There is no greater gauge than the fact that it makes me feel something. And hopefully, it makes someone else feel something too.” V. Arias Ruiz

She began her photography studies at Roberto Mata School of Photography in Miami (2018). With a special interest in portraiture and a major in International Affairs, her visual narrative explores different current themes, highlighting the human role within today’s society and its link with the expression of thought. The visual and literary elements conceive the artistic symbology that the author manages to capture in her work. She is currently working on a series of artistic nudes within the landscape context of her current place of residence, Hawai’i.
